Silverosa film is developing a new feature film with the working title A Storm came from paradise based on the novel A Storm Blew in from paradise. The script is written by Johannes Anyuru and Mercies May and produced by Anna Byvald, Silverosa Film in partnership with Righ2Screen, supported by SFI and Film i Väst.
The true story of Ugandan fighter pilot Paul Anyuru, A Storm Came From Paradise is a harrowing journey from Paul’s boyhood dreams of flight in Africa to his life of exile and fatherhood in Sweden. A victim of history’s dangerous momentum, Paul is swept up in circumstances beyond his control as Idi Amin takes power in his homeland making him a fugitive and ultimately a refugee. From the Royal air force academy in Greece to the streets of Rome to the slums of Nairobi, Paul is forced to leave everyone and everything he loves as he spends five decades on the run eluding almost certain death.
